I am a lighting designer based in London and working internationally in theatre and concert touring as well as other areas of the arts including opera, film, exhibitions and large events.

Recent theatre credits include Kuwait Calling (Rambert2/59 Productions), Moulin Rouge! and 28 Days Later (Secret Cinema), The Wolves in The Walls (UK Tour), The Last Ship (US tour, UK tour and Toronto), POD and Provok’d (Guildhall School of Music and Drama), The Snow Queen (Royal Danish Opera), Troilus and Cressida (RSC), Memoirs of a Sailor and Black and White (National Theatre of Kuwait), St Nicholas (Donmar Warehouse and Goodman Theatre Chicago), The Rink (Southwark Playhouse), The Shadow Factory (Nuffield Theatre), In the Night Garden: Live, Bing Live (UK Tour), Rapunzel (Theatre Royal Stratford East), Rules for Living (English Touring Theatre), The Hartlepool Monkey (Gyre and Gimble), City of Glass (HOME Manchester and The Lyric Hammersmith), Death takes a Holiday (Charing Cross Theatre), Wasted (West Yorkshire Playhouse), Beacons (Park Theatre) and The Elephantom (National Theatre and West End). 

Matt’s work in live music includes; The Pet Shop Boys Dreamland Tour [Upcoming], The xx (2018 European and US tours), Damian Rice’s My Favourite Faded Fantasy world tour, Sigur Rós’s Kveikur and Valtari  world tours (with Bruno Poet) and Björk’s Biophilia world tour.

Work for film includes The French Dispatch directed by Wes Anderson and Pride directed by Matthew Warchus.

Exhibitions include Made In Space (Tycho Brahe Planeterium, Copenhagen), Virtual Realms (Barbican/Touring) [Upcoming].

Matt’s studied lighting design at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, University of London, graduating in 2006 with first class (honours).
